
The Nordic Folkboat I am restoring is (for a change) my own boat. I aquired her in 2004 for a very low price in Canada, moved her to Michigan and put her into storage as I was actively sailing my other Folkboat which I had brought with me from Europe. In a rather frightening accident my first Folkboat was lost in June 2007 and in October that year I finally pulled this 1956 Nordic Folkboat out of storage, built a boathouse at my home in Michigan and started Restoration. I completely gutted the boat, replaced 19 frames, closed all thru-hull openings (who thought it was a good idea to have them in the first place?), put in new Garboards, started rebuilding the rig (still ongoing) and then: joined IYRS ...
